Event dates for 2023

We’re delighted to release the dates for our events in 2023, including our popular Open Sundays, Guided Tours, West End Bus Fest and Annual Open Weekend. Please see our Events Page for more details.

2022 has been one of our most successful years ever, with more visitors to Bridgeton Bus Garage and riding on our buses than ever before! We’ve also visited and supported more local carnivals, festivals and community events with vehicles from our collection! Let’s make 2023 even better!

If you’re having a local community event that you think we could be involved with, please drop us an email with more details.

Annual Open Weekend 2021

Join us for the return of the main event of our calendar, on 9th and 10th of October

Visitors will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of yesteryear with our free vintage bus services to and from the City Centre and the Riverside Museum. The frequent service will use a selection of historic buses from the GVVT collection together with a number of visiting vehicles. The service will operate to a timetable which will be posted here and our facebook and twitter accounts before the event.

Inside the garage, we’ll have a fine display of buses, commercial vehicles and fire engines again many visiting the garage from elsewhere. We will also have a number of modern buses from today’s operators which will let visitors contrast buses of today with their predecessors from the 20th Century. The vehicle displays also give the visitor insight into all stages of vehicle restoration, from rusting hulks, to preservation in progress and finally to the restored vehicle.

Other popular activities will be running:

We will have a large number of stalls selling souvenirs, books, models, photos and autojumble.

There will be an exhibition of artefacts from the GVVT Archive.

The Model Bus Federation will be bringing their dioramas showing their models in a range of street scenes.

Finally, and not to be forgotten, the Clippie’s Café will be opening serving refreshments and light snacks (including lots of delicious homebaking!)

Admission prices:

Adults £8, Child (5-15) £5, Senior £5, Family (2 Adults and up to 2 children) £20. A weekend pass is available (adults £13, child/senior £8). Under 5’s are free.

Entrance to Bridgeton Bus Garage will be via our Broad Street door. You can pay at our cash desk, or buy your tickets in advance for priority entry.
